PMI Recognises Dubai Police for Excellence in Project Delivery and Institutional Transformation
The Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading authority on project success and professional project management, has honoured Dubai Police for its excellence in delivering strategic projects and initiatives that contribute to community safety, security, and public service innovation.
The recognition was presented during PMI’s Global Summit in Seoul, South Korea, where Pierre Le Manh, President and Chief Executive Officer of PMI, awarded the honour to Colonel Ahmed El Hafaity, Director of the Initiatives and Projects Department at Dubai Police.
The ceremony was attended by Hanny Alshazly, Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa at PMI, alongside global project management professionals and industry leaders participating in the international summit.
Recognition for Project Management Excellence
The award highlights Dubai Police’s commitment to leveraging project management as a strategic tool to drive institutional excellence, organisational transformation, and innovation within the public sector.
According to PMI, Dubai Police has demonstrated a strong commitment to strengthening organisational capabilities, enhancing project delivery frameworks, and developing national talent through the adoption of internationally recognised project management standards and practices.
Hanny Alshazly noted that the recognition reflects Dubai Police’s leadership in applying project management methodologies to support government transformation and strategic development initiatives.
“This recognition reflects Dubai Police’s leadership in leveraging project management as a tool to achieve institutional excellence and drive transformation across the public sector,” he said.
Strategic Partnership with PMI
The recognition also highlights Dubai Police’s pioneering role as the first police organisation to establish a strategic partnership with PMI in 2022.
The collaboration has focused on advancing project management excellence, strengthening institutional capabilities, supporting organisational transformation efforts, and improving the successful implementation of strategic priorities.
Since the partnership began, Dubai Police has integrated project management practices across a range of key initiatives aimed at improving organisational agility, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering high-quality services to the community.
PMI stated that the partnership serves as a benchmark for government entities seeking to strengthen governance frameworks, improve project outcomes, and foster innovation through structured project management methodologies.
Supporting the UAE’s Future Vision
The recognition underscores the growing importance of project management in advancing government excellence and supporting the UAE’s long-term development objectives.
By embedding modern management practices within its operations, Dubai Police has continued to enhance institutional performance, improve service delivery, and support sustainable organisational growth.
Alshazly added that Dubai Police’s efforts align with the UAE’s vision of building future-ready government institutions capable of delivering long-term value and measurable societal impact.
The organisation’s approach focuses on institutionalising excellence and innovation through effective planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic initiatives.
Commitment to Innovation and Talent Development
Commenting on the recognition, Colonel Ahmed El Hafaity said the award reflects Dubai Police’s ongoing commitment to strengthening project management capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
“Dubai Police is proud to receive this recognition, which reflects our shared commitment to innovation, excellence, and strengthening project management capabilities,” he said.
He added that the partnership with PMI has contributed to developing national talent, improving institutional performance, and supporting Dubai Police’s broader vision of enhancing happiness, security, and safety within the community.
As government entities increasingly adopt modern project management practices to improve efficiency and service delivery, Dubai Police’s recognition by PMI highlights its role as a regional leader in institutional transformation, innovation, and public-sector excellence.
