The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has received the SAP Global Innovation Award 2026 in the Services Superstar category for successfully implementing the UAE's Corporate Tax system through its EmaraTax digital platform.

The FTA achieved the highest score among 182 organisations worldwide, reinforcing its position as a leader in digital tax services and innovation. The award recognises organisations that accelerate business outcomes through the effective use of SAP's enterprise software and AI-powered technologies.

EmaraTax Recognised for Digital Tax Innovation

The award was presented to H.E. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla, Director General of the FTA, during a ceremony at the Authority's headquarters in Dubai attended by SAP representatives, Abdulla Al Bastaki, Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Sector at the FTA, and senior officials from both organisations.

According to the FTA, the recognition highlights the success of the EmaraTax platform, which has evolved over the past three years in partnership with Invenio, a global technology consulting company.

The platform provides a comprehensive range of digital tax services, including the UAE's Corporate Tax system, which now serves more than 742,000 registered taxpayers. It enables users to manage tax registration, returns, payments, refunds, and other tax-related procedures through a single digital platform.

Supporting Faster and More Efficient Tax Services

The FTA said EmaraTax has become a benchmark for delivering efficient, transparent, and customer-focused tax services. The platform supports:

1. Corporate Tax
2. Value Added Tax (VAT)
3. Excise Tax
4. Tax registrations
5. Tax return submissions
6. Tax payments
7. Refund applications
8. Reconsideration requests
9. Other digital tax services

The Authority noted that the system processes high transaction volumes with a success rate of up to 99.5%, including during peak filing periods, while remaining integrated with digital services provided by other government entities.

FTA Highlights Innovation Strategy

Commenting on the achievement, H.E. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla said the award reflects the FTA's continued commitment to operational excellence and innovation across its services.

He added that the Authority is implementing a comprehensive innovation strategy aimed at achieving global leadership in tax administration by enhancing digital services, accelerating service delivery, reducing procedural requirements where possible, and developing proactive government services aligned with the UAE's vision of providing world-class public services.

Partnership Supports UAE Digital Transformation

Abdulla Al Bastaki said the award reflects the high quality of Corporate Tax services delivered through EmaraTax, supported by scalable technologies that improve efficiency and strengthen customer confidence in the tax system.

Meanwhile, Alan Hunt, Chief Executive Officer of Invenio, said the recognition demonstrates the success of the long-term collaboration between the FTA, SAP, and Invenio in developing a future-ready Corporate Tax platform that supports the UAE's long-term economic growth.

The FTA added that EmaraTax will continue to undergo regular enhancements to expand its digital capabilities and further improve the delivery of tax services through ongoing collaboration between the Authority, SAP, and Invenio.
