Ford Middle East Enhances Customer Experience with New Parts Distribution Center in Dubai
Ford has officially unveiled its state-of-the-art Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Dubai South, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued investment in the Middle East. The new 41,792-square-meter facility is poised to strengthen Ford’s operations in the region, streamline parts storage and distribution, and further enhance customer service.
The PDC, which was developed in collaboration with global logistics leader DB Schenker, represents nearly a year of development since its groundbreaking in January 2024. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to improve operational efficiency and accuracy, consolidating Ford’s parts distribution operations across the Middle East, from the UAE to Saudi Arabia, Angola, and Ghana.
The newly opened center is capable of storing approximately 100,000 different parts, enabling Ford to increase parts availability, optimize inventory management, and expedite delivery times. With 20 container docks (10 inbound and 10 outbound), the facility is equipped to handle high volumes of parts, ensuring faster response times for customers.
Kay Hart, President of Ford International Markets Group, expressed confidence in the new facility’s impact on customer satisfaction. “With these improvements, we’re confident that the enhanced service levels and reduced wait times will elevate Ford’s customer satisfaction and build trust in our brands and distributors,” Hart said.
Ako Djaf, Vice President of Contract Logistics and Supply Chain Management at DB Schenker for the Middle East and Africa, highlighted the importance of the partnership. “The new Parts Distribution Center stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. By leveraging our global expertise, we are excited to play a pivotal role in Ford’s journey to deliver exceptional service to customers across the region,” Djaf remarked.
The PDC incorporates cutting-edge technology to improve operational accuracy and efficiency. A SAP S/4HANA warehouse management system, including drone-assisted site safety and inventory management, ensures paperless picking through barcode scanning, reducing errors and improving stock availability.
In addition to operational enhancements, the PDC is built with safety and environmental responsibility in mind. The facility features a 1.3-meter raised floor to mitigate flooding risks, as well as an industry-leading fire suppression system. As part of Ford’s sustainability goals, the center will be equipped with a 400kW solar panel system, scheduled for installation in the second half of 2025. This system is expected to reduce energy costs by 35 percent and lower the carbon footprint by 290 tons annually. Furthermore, Ford collaborates with eco-friendly suppliers and ensures that all disposals are recycled or treated responsibly in accordance with environmental regulations.
Ford's investment in the new Parts Distribution Center underscores its commitment to enhancing the customer experience and ensuring seamless service delivery across the Middle East.
