Hyundai Motor Group expands Saudi traineeship programme with Misk Foundation

Hyundai Motor Group has expanded its joint traineeship programme with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), selecting 10 Saudi students and graduates to participate in an intensive eight-week training programme at the company's global headquarters in Seoul, reinforcing its long-term commitment to developing young talent and strengthening ties between South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

The programme, which began on July 6, is part of the Misk Skills Track and marks a significant expansion from the 2025 pilot initiative, which included just two participants. The latest edition received more than 2,500 applications, reflecting strong interest among Saudi youth in gaining international industry experience with the global automotive group.

The selected participants were chosen through a competitive evaluation process based on their professional capabilities, communication skills and leadership potential.

Hokeun Chung, Executive Vice President of the Future Strategy Division at Hyundai Motor Group, said Saudi Arabia remains a strategic market for the company and an important partner in its long-term vision.

He said the traineeship will give participants valuable practical experience and first-hand exposure to the company's operations, innovation and future mobility strategy while helping nurture future talent and strengthen cooperation between Korea and Saudi Arabia.

Asma Al Jasser, Director of Misk Skills Track at the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation, said the success of the programme's first cohort demonstrated the value of the partnership in preparing Saudi youth for the evolving global workforce.

She added that expanding the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to providing young people with practical experience, international exposure and the confidence to lead.

During the eight-week programme, participants will work across several of Hyundai Motor Group's major business and strategic divisions, gaining hands-on experience in areas including global strategy, design and business operations. They will also contribute to projects and research focused on the Saudi and Middle East markets, while developing professional networks and global perspectives.

The expanded programme builds on discussions held in October 2025 between Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung and Dr. Badr Hamoud Al-Badr, Chief Executive Officer of the Misk Foundation, aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two organisations.

Looking ahead, Hyundai Motor Group said it will continue expanding its partnership with the Misk Foundation through initiatives including the HMG Smart City Workshop at the Misk Global Forum, alongside other sponsorship and youth development programmes.

The company said the broader collaboration is designed to foster future talent, promote people-to-people exchanges between Saudi Arabia and South Korea, and support greater cooperation across industries.
