SANS Institute launches Falcon 180 Mission to boost cyber readiness across Middle East, Türkiye and Africa

SANS Institute, a global provider of cybersecurity training and certifications, has launched the Falcon 180 Mission, a new regional initiative designed to strengthen cyber readiness among security professionals across the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Türkiye and Africa.

The programme combines 180 days of SANS OnDemand training, GIAC certification and flexible access to live SANS training events into a single learning pathway aimed at helping cybersecurity professionals develop practical, job-ready skills while continuing their day-to-day responsibilities.

According to SANS Institute, organisations are facing increasingly complex cyber threats while security teams are expected to protect expanding digital environments and keep pace with rapidly evolving technologies. At the same time, a lack of time remains one of the biggest obstacles to professional development, with 60% of cybersecurity practitioners identifying time constraints as their primary barrier to training.

The Falcon 180 Mission has been designed to address this challenge by offering a structured yet flexible learning model that allows professionals to build technical expertise without taking extended time away from work.

Ned Baltagi, Managing Director for the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa at SANS Institute, said continuous learning has become essential in today's cybersecurity landscape.

"The fast pace of change in cybersecurity means that professionals do not have the luxury of learning only once every few years. It must become part of the job," Baltagi said.

He added that organisations need security teams capable of continuously strengthening their expertise while responding to emerging cyber threats, and that the Falcon 180 Mission provides a flexible curriculum that maintains the depth and quality of SANS training while accommodating busy work schedules.

Participants will have access to hands-on exercises, practical labs and practice tests to prepare for GIAC certification in eligible courses. In addition, a flexible live pass allows learners to attend the same course either in person or online at upcoming SANS training events held across the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Türkiye and Africa.

By combining self-paced digital learning with instructor-led training, the programme provides a structured 180-day learning journey that culminates in an internationally recognised cybersecurity credential.

SANS Institute said the initiative reflects its commitment to equipping cybersecurity professionals with field-tested, practical skills that can be immediately applied in real-world environments while helping organisations strengthen their overall cyber resilience.

To encourage participation, the institute is also offering a limited-time 10% discount on eligible enrolments, enabling professionals to complete training, earn GIAC certification and enhance their cybersecurity capabilities through a flexible learning model.
