Hamdan Foundation, National Bonds Strengthen Students' Financial Literacy Through Summer Forum Workshop
Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, in partnership with National Bonds, organised a specialised financial literacy workshop for 54 students as part of the Tomorrow's Skills Summer Forum 2026, equipping participants with practical money management and financial planning skills.
Held under the theme "Aware – Towards Financial and Knowledge Intelligence," the interactive workshop formed part of the forum's Skills Track, introducing students to essential financial concepts through hands-on learning activities designed to build lifelong financial confidence.
The programme covered a wide range of topics, including financial mindset, personal budgeting, smart spending, saving, investing, long-term financial planning, credit management, insurance, financial fraud prevention, and cybersecurity. Participants also explored emerging investment options such as gold and cryptocurrencies, alongside the growing role of artificial intelligence in financial decision-making.
His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, said financial literacy has become a critical life skill that complements academic and technical education.
"Preparing future generations goes beyond developing academic and technical capabilities. It also requires equipping them with the life skills needed to make responsible decisions across every aspect of their lives. Financial literacy empowers young people to plan effectively, manage resources wisely, and confidently navigate today's rapidly evolving economic landscape."
He added that the Foundation remains committed to delivering educational programmes that combine knowledge with practical application, preparing students for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Rehab Lootah, Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer of National Bonds, said financial education has remained a core pillar of the organisation's strategy for more than two decades.
"Financial awareness is not simply a skill but a way of life that begins in childhood and continues throughout every stage of life. Through initiatives that engage children, students, families, employees, and retirees, we aim to contribute to a more financially aware and resilient society."
She noted that the collaboration builds on the success of National Bonds' Young Investor programme, which encourages saving, investing, and financial planning from an early age while supporting the objectives of the UAE's Year of the Family 2026.
The workshop featured interactive exercises that enabled students to apply financial concepts to real-life situations, strengthening their financial decision-making skills and confidence in managing personal finances.
The financial literacy session is part of the Tomorrow's Skills Summer Forum 2026, an initiative by Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation that offers programmes in gifted education, innovation, advanced technologies, and essential life skills to prepare young people for a knowledge- and innovation-driven future.
