Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) is strengthening its role in advancing educational and research innovation to support Dubai’s long-term vision of becoming a global leader in longevity, quality of life, and preventive healthcare.

The initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and supports the strategic objectives behind the establishment of the Dubai Longevity Authority.

During a meeting between H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, and Dr. Ludmila Vassilieva, Founder and Medical Director of Holistic Healing Medical Centre, both sides explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration through smart learning, scientific research, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovation.

The discussions focused on developing specialised educational programmes and research initiatives in partnership with private-sector organisations to build future-ready talent, enhance knowledge creation, and encourage the exchange of expertise in preventive health, community wellbeing, and longevity sciences.

Supporting Dubai’s Future-Ready Healthcare Ecosystem

HBMSU aims to leverage its expertise in digital education and AI to contribute to Dubai’s emerging longevity ecosystem by preparing professionals equipped with the skills needed to support the emirate’s future healthcare ambitions.

The university also plans to strengthen collaboration with industry partners to promote applied research and innovation that improves quality of life while supporting sustainable community development.

Leadership Highlights the Importance of Longevity

H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar said the creation of the Dubai Longevity Authority represents a strategic milestone that reflects Dubai’s forward-looking vision of building an integrated ecosystem focused on people’s wellbeing and healthy living.

He noted that longevity is becoming one of the world's most promising interdisciplinary fields, combining technology, knowledge, and innovation to create meaningful societal impact. He added that academic institutions have a key role in developing talent, advancing research, and creating practical solutions that improve quality of life.

Dr. Al Awar reaffirmed HBMSU’s commitment to using smart learning, scientific research, and AI technologies, alongside strategic partnerships, to support national priorities and contribute to sustainable, future-focused outcomes.

Collaboration to Advance Research and Innovation

Dr. Ludmila Vassilieva shared international insights and best practices in longevity and wellbeing, highlighting the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and healthcare specialists to drive innovation and expand knowledge in the rapidly evolving field.

Both parties agreed to continue discussions and explore future areas of cooperation that align with HBMSU’s strategic priorities while supporting Dubai’s vision of becoming a global hub for longevity, innovation, and quality of life.
