Emirati Human Resources Development Council Holds First Board Meeting of 2026 in Dubai

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council held its first Board of Directors meeting for 2026, focusing on strengthening the integration of Emirati talent into the labour market and expanding opportunities for UAE nationals in the private sector.

The meeting was chaired by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori and took place at the council’s headquarters in Dubai.

Focus on Emirati Employment and Workforce Development

During the session, the council reviewed employment progress among Emiratis in the private sector and free zones, alongside a detailed presentation on key performance indicators related to job seekers across the emirate.

Officials also examined a comprehensive report on the status of Emirati job seekers, assessing the impact of ongoing initiatives designed to support national workforce participation.

According to the council, collaborative initiatives implemented with strategic partners have led to a significant rise in Emirati employment in Dubai’s private sector, with the number of UAE nationals working in the sector increasing by more than 350 per cent between 2021 and 2025.

Developing the Council’s 2026 Action Plan

The meeting also marked the start of preparations for the council’s 2026 action plan, aligned with Dubai’s broader vision of building a competitive, knowledge-based economy driven by skilled national talent.

Al Mansoori emphasised that the next phase will require stronger collaboration between all entities involved in Emiratisation, alongside efforts to create attractive and supportive work environments for UAE nationals within private companies and free zone organisations.

Preparing Emirati Talent for Future Economic Sectors

He also stressed the importance of continuously updating policies and programmes to keep pace with rapid economic and technological developments.

These updates, he noted, will help ensure that Emirati professionals are well prepared to take on strategic roles in emerging sectors and major development projects across Dubai.

Commitment to Measurable Outcomes

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to:

  1. Monitoring performance indicators regularly

  2. Accelerating the implementation of approved initiatives

  3. Strengthening collaboration with government and private-sector partners

Through these efforts, the council aims to enhance Emirati human capital development and support the meaningful participation of UAE nationals in the emirate’s economic and social growth.
