Etihad Rail Reinforces Role as Reliable Channel for UAE Trade and Supply Chains
The UAE’s national railway operator Etihad Rail has reaffirmed the reliability of its freight operations, confirming that services across the country’s rail network continue to run normally, ensuring the uninterrupted movement of goods and strengthening national supply chains.
According to the company, Etihad Rail Freight has maintained consistent operations across the United Arab Emirates, supporting businesses and logistics partners with dependable transport connectivity.
Over 459,000 Tonnes of Cargo Transported in Nine Days
Over the past nine days, Etihad Rail Freight has operated more than 100 freight train trips, transporting over 459,000 tonnes of cargo and more than 7,900 containers across the national railway network.
The rail system continues to provide reliable connections between major industrial zones, ports and logistics hubs, enabling the efficient flow of goods across the country.
Additional Rail Corridors Activated
To further strengthen network resilience and operational efficiency, the company has activated additional rail corridors while redeploying intermodal capacity to East Coast ports.
Operations at the Al Ghail Dry Port Rail Terminal have also been enhanced with five additional train services, helping increase cargo handling capacity.
Officials said operations remain fully aligned with established safety and operational protocols, with the company continuing to coordinate closely with relevant national authorities and monitor regional developments.
Key Role in UAE Logistics Infrastructure
Since the launch of commercial freight operations, the UAE’s national railway network has become a vital component of the country’s logistics infrastructure, offering businesses a safe, efficient and sustainable transport solution that improves supply chain resilience.
Omar Alsebeyi highlighted the strategic importance of the network.
“The UAE’s national railway network was built to strengthen the resilience and reliability of the country’s logistics and supply chain ecosystem,” he said.
Alsebeyi added that the company remains committed to ensuring the continuous movement of goods across the UAE, while working closely with authorities, customers and logistics partners to maintain stable and efficient freight services that support the nation’s economy.
