Dubai Chambers Hosts Four Legal Workshops on Key Business Regulations

Dubai Chambers recently organized four comprehensive legal workshops to enhance the local business community’s compliance with regulations governing imports and exports, virtual assets, corporate governance, and labor laws. A total of 340 participants from the private sector attended these sessions.

These interactive workshops are part of Dubai Chambers’ ongoing initiative to raise awareness of the latest legislative developments impacting various sectors of the business community. The goal is to enhance the competitiveness of companies operating in Dubai and support sustainable business growth by ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and the adoption of best practices.

Workshops Overview

Imports and Exports:
The first workshop, held virtually in cooperation with Clout Legal Consultancy, focused on managing import and export operations. It aimed to provide participants with effective risk management strategies to minimize the risk of unpaid debt. The session also covered compliance requirements, payment security, tax implications, and dispute resolution and recovery. A case study highlighted the regulatory and legal environments in various countries.

Virtual Assets:
The second online workshop, conducted in partnership with Afridi & Angell, explored the licensing and regulation of virtual asset businesses. The session examined the local virtual assets landscape and the key factors driving the growth of cryptocurrency transactions in the UAE. Participants also learned about the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority’s role and discussed industry best practices.

Corporate Governance:
In collaboration with Watson Farley & Williams and FTI Consulting, the third workshop addressed corporate governance and compliance from both legal and practical perspectives. Participants gained insights into the local and regional legal landscapes through real-world case studies and discussed the latest trends, auditing mechanisms, and compliance verification.

Labor Law:
The fourth workshop was an Arabic language webinar held in partnership with Eman Al-Rifai Advocates and Legal Consultants. It focused on UAE Labor Law, covering various types of employment contracts, the legalities surrounding the termination of employment contracts, and the principles governing relations between workers and employers.
