WETEX 2025 Showcases Green Mobility Innovations and Strengthens Competitiveness of Eco-Friendly Vehicles
The Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2025), organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), highlighted the latest advancements in sustainable transportation, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to green mobility and clean energy solutions.
Aligned with the objectives of Dubai’s Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the UAE’s broader sustainability agenda, WETEX 2025 featured a dedicated Green Mobility Hall that brought together leading local and international companies specializing in electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen technologies, low-emission fuels, and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered transportation solutions.
The exhibition reflected the growing demand for environmentally friendly mobility solutions across land, sea, and air transport sectors while showcasing innovations designed to accelerate the adoption of sustainable transportation worldwide.
Driving the Future of Sustainable Mobility
Speaking on the significance of the event, His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, emphasized the exhibition’s role in supporting the UAE’s transition toward cleaner transportation.
“In line with the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the National Electric Vehicles Policy, WETEX continues to play a pivotal role in promoting competitiveness among companies specializing in electric mobility,” Al Tayer said.
He noted that by attracting the latest technologies, expertise, and best practices, WETEX contributes to reducing the costs of electric vehicles and batteries while enhancing sector performance and strengthening the competitiveness of sustainable transport against conventional mobility solutions.
AI-Powered Innovations Transform Mobility
A key focus of WETEX 2025 was the growing role of artificial intelligence and generative AI in reshaping the transportation sector.
The exhibition featured cutting-edge solutions developed by companies leveraging AI to address challenges related to sustainable mobility, vehicle production, safety, operational efficiency, and user experience.
Industry experts highlighted how AI technologies are enabling the development of smarter, safer, and more resource-efficient vehicles while accelerating innovation across the electric mobility ecosystem.
These advancements are expected to play a critical role in supporting future transportation systems that are both environmentally sustainable and economically efficient.
DEWA Highlights Expanding EV Charging Network
During the exhibition, DEWA showcased its EV Green Charger initiative, which continues to expand charging infrastructure across the emirate.
The initiative now includes more than 1,500 charging points distributed across DEWA’s network and licensed Charge Point Operators (CPOs), providing greater accessibility and convenience for electric vehicle users.
The growing charging network supports Dubai’s efforts to encourage EV adoption and reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector.
Region’s First Multi-Fuel Sustainable Service Station
WETEX also highlighted DEWA’s collaboration with ENOC Group on the Service Station of the Future (SSoF) located at Expo City Dubai.
The facility is currently the only service station in the region capable of offering green hydrogen, conventional hydrocarbon fuels such as petrol and diesel, and electric vehicle charging services at a single location.
The project represents a significant step toward creating an integrated sustainable mobility ecosystem that accommodates multiple clean energy technologies.
Supporting this initiative, DEWA continues to produce green hydrogen through its pilot plant at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a regional leader in renewable energy innovation.
Supporting Dubai’s Sustainable Transport Vision
As electric vehicle adoption accelerates globally, WETEX 2025 served as a strategic platform for fostering innovation, collaboration, and investment across the green mobility sector.
By bringing together technology providers, policymakers, energy companies, and mobility experts, the exhibition reinforced Dubai’s ambition to become a global hub for sustainable transportation and clean energy solutions.
The event also highlighted the critical role of emerging technologies such as AI, hydrogen energy, and advanced charging infrastructure in shaping the future of mobility while contributing to the UAE’s long-term environmental and economic sustainability goals.
