Emarat Launches Flame Tree Planting Initiative Across Dubai Service Stations

Emarat has partnered with Dubai Municipality to launch a city-wide Flame Tree planting initiative across its service stations in Dubai, supporting the emirate's greening and beautification strategy inspired by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

The initiative commenced at Emarat Al Buhaira Service Station and will gradually expand to other Emarat service stations across Dubai. It forms part of Dubai Municipality's broader campaign to increase the city's green spaces by planting the iconic Flame Tree throughout streets, residential communities, public parks, intersections, and other public areas.

The programme aims to enhance Dubai's urban landscape by increasing green cover, improving walkability, creating additional shaded areas, and making public spaces more attractive and comfortable for residents and visitors. It also highlights the importance of collaboration between government entities and national companies in advancing the emirate's sustainability and quality-of-life objectives.

The launch event was attended by H.E. Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and Burhan Al Hashemi, CEO of Emarat, alongside senior executives, officials, and invited guests. During the ceremony, participants planted several Flame Trees, renowned for their striking orange-red blossoms that have become synonymous with Dubai's summer landscape.

The trees, which will be planted at strategically located Emarat service stations throughout the city, are expected to add visual appeal while providing natural shade and helping to cool surrounding public spaces.

Burhan Al Hashemi, CEO of Emarat, said the initiative reflects the company's commitment to supporting Sheikh Hamdan's vision of making Dubai greener through collaboration with Dubai Municipality. He noted that planting Flame Trees at key service station locations would enhance the city's streetscape while reinforcing Emarat's long-standing focus on environmental sustainability and ecosystem protection.

He added that the partnership demonstrates Emarat's commitment to creating a lasting positive environmental impact for future generations while contributing to Dubai's broader sustainability ambitions.

The initiative further strengthens the partnership between Emarat and Dubai Municipality in supporting programmes that promote biodiversity, improve urban environments, and contribute to the emirate's long-term environmental goals.

The Flame Tree was selected for its suitability to Dubai's climate. The drought-tolerant species provides extensive shade as it matures, helping reduce heat in public spaces while enhancing the livability of the city's urban environment. Its inclusion supports Dubai's long-term strategy to expand green infrastructure, create healthier ecosystems, and develop a more sustainable and resilient city throughout the year.
