UAE Space Agency Sets Global Benchmark with Third Consecutive CIPS Ethics Kitemark
The UAE Space Agency has once again distinguished itself on the global stage, becoming the first and only space agency in the world to be awarded the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Ethics Kitemark for the third consecutive year. This prestigious certification underscores the Agency’s unwavering commitment to ethical procurement, transparency, and global best practices.
The CIPS Ethics Kitemark is a globally recognized standard that honours organizations and individuals who uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in procurement and supply chain management. To earn this certification, the UAE Space Agency demonstrated successful integration of the CIPS code of ethics into its procurement policies. It confirmed the completion of annual ethics training by its staff.
A Global Leader in Responsible Procurement
This achievement reaffirms the UAE Space Agency’s role not just as a leader in space exploration and innovation but also as a standard-bearer for ethical governance. By embedding ethical practices in its procurement operations, the Agency ensures its supplier relationships are fair, accountable, and sustainable—an approach aligned with the UAE Government’s broader vision of excellence and integrity.
“Ethical procurement is the foundation of public trust and long-term organisational success. The UAE Space Agency’s commitment to ethics, transparency, and professionalism sets a powerful example for both the public sector and the global space community,” said Sam Achampong, Regional Director, CIPS MENA.
“We are proud to recognise the Agency’s leadership with the CIPS Ethics Kitemark for a third consecutive year.”
Building Ethical Excellence and Capability
Beyond certification, the UAE Space Agency is also strengthening its internal procurement capabilities. The organisation continues to invest in upskilling its team, with members pursuing professional qualifications such as the globally respected MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), reinforcing the agency’s capacity for ethical, efficient, and strategic sourcing.
“As we pursue ambitious goals in science, technology and space exploration, we recognise that integrity must remain central to how we operate,” said Maha Al Mansoori, Director of the Support Services Department at the UAE Space Agency.
“This third consecutive Ethics Kitemark is a reflection of our team’s commitment and a symbol of our alignment with the values of the UAE Government. We are proud to lead the way in ethical procurement for the space sector globally.”
As international collaboration in space continues to grow, the UAE Space Agency's pioneering efforts in ethical governance and procurement position it as a trusted global partner and a beacon of accountability in the evolving landscape of space exploration.
