UAE Schools Prepare for Academic Year 2025–2026 as Teachers Return Next Week
Public schools and private institutions following the Ministry of Education curriculum across all emirates are set to welcome teachers, technical, and administrative staff next Monday, marking their official return after the summer break. The move signals the start of preparations for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Classes for students across all grades will commence on Monday, August 25, aligning with the new academic calendar. The Ministry of Education is expected to release updated figures on the total number of teachers, including details on new appointments for the upcoming year.
As part of the preparations, educators and staff will undergo a two-phase professional development programme. The first phase runs from August 18 to 22, while the second will take place from October 13 to 15, focusing on equipping teachers with the skills and tools needed to ensure a smooth start to the school year.
Academic Calendar 2025–2026
The new school year includes 178 instructional days, divided into three terms:

First term: 67 days, beginning on August 25 and lasting 14 weeks.

The structured calendar aims to balance learning outcomes with effective academic planning, ensuring consistency across all schools under the Ministry of Education.
