UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Wellbeing on International Day of Happiness
Dr. Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC), has underscored the importance of integrating happiness into governance and institutional strategies, marking the International Day of Happiness.
In an official statement, Dr. bin Meshar highlighted that happiness plays a vital role in enhancing people’s wellbeing and driving societal progress. He noted that the global observance serves as a reminder for governments to embed happiness into policies and initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and supporting sustainable development.
He emphasized that within government and institutional environments, happiness goes beyond employee satisfaction and customer experience. It contributes to improving efficiency and productivity while fostering workplaces that encourage creativity and innovation.
Dr. bin Meshar also pointed to the United Arab Emirates as a global leader in promoting happiness and wellbeing. He noted that the country continues to implement forward-looking policies and initiatives designed to ensure a dignified and fulfilling life for citizens, residents, and visitors.
According to the statement, the UAE has positioned happiness as a national priority and a strategic pillar within its broader sustainable development agenda.
Reaffirming the SLC’s commitment, Dr. bin Meshar said the committee will continue to embed happiness as both an institutional culture and a practical approach. This, he added, supports the development of an advanced legislative ecosystem aligned with the nation’s long-term vision and reinforces the UAE’s reputation as a global hub for wellbeing and social prosperity.
