UAE Pass Wins Gold Award for Digital Identity at Global Government Transformation Awards

The UAE Pass has been awarded the Gold Award in the International Public Authority category at the 16th IESE Government Transformation Awards 2025, held in London. The award recognizes the Dubai Digital Authority, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), and the Department of Government Empowerment in Abu Dhabi for their collaborative efforts in advancing digital identity solutions.

The IESE Government Transformation Awards celebrate global innovation and best practices in the government sector, evaluating 140 distinguished projects from around the world. The UAE Pass emerged as a world-leading digital identity solution, demonstrating excellence in digital transformation and security.

UAE Pass: A Unified Digital Identity Solution

His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Dubai Digital, emphasized the significance of the UAE Pass as a national milestone in digital transformation, stating:
"Winning this award is the culmination of years of cooperation between local and federal government entities. The UAE Pass has become an integral part of our digital lifestyle, ensuring secure, seamless access to government and private sector services."

The UAE Pass enables citizens, residents, and visitors to register and verify their identity using facial recognition technology, offering a secure and convenient login for more than 15,000 services across 340 entities, including federal, local, and private sector organizations.

Strengthening the UAE’s Digital Economy

His Excellency Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of TDRA, highlighted the broader impact of the UAE Pass, stating:
"This recognition reflects the UAE’s leadership in digital transformation. The UAE Pass exemplifies our journey toward a fully integrated digital government, aligning with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision to drive innovation and economic progress."

The UAE Pass project is a collaborative initiative between multiple government entities, including the Dubai Electronic Security Center, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and Customs and Ports Security. Its implementation reinforces the UAE’s commitment to enhancing digital security, efficiency, and user experience.

A Growing National Digital Ecosystem

The UAE Pass is currently integrated with:

  • 60 federal authorities

  • 171 local government agencies

  • 118 private sector entities

With AI-driven verification and streamlined authentication processes, the UAE Pass ensures top-tier security and efficiency, positioning the UAE as a global leader in digital governance.

The award ceremony took place on March 5, 2025, in London, attended by global government officials, technology leaders, and representatives of award-winning projects. Officials from Dubai Digital, TDRA, and the Digital Government Authority accepted the prestigious Gold Award.

As the UAE continues its digital transformation journey, the success of the UAE Pass reaffirms its commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies for a secure, efficient, and user-centric government ecosystem.
