Syria Unveils $300M ‘The Beaumont’ Mega Project To Revitalise Tourism Sector
Ministry of Tourism Syria has announced a landmark partnership with Ezdihar Holding to develop “The Beaumont”, a $250–300 million mega project aimed at revitalising the country’s tourism sector and driving economic growth.
Spanning 77,000 square metres, the fully integrated development will combine residential, commercial, and leisure components, positioning itself as a flagship destination in Damascus.
Major Investment Driving Jobs And Growth
The project is expected to generate 1,500–2,500 direct jobs and an additional 3,000–3,500 indirect employment opportunities, reinforcing its role as a key economic catalyst.
Delivered through a 50-year joint venture, the development reflects a long-term commitment to public-private collaboration, with construction scheduled in phases over the next four years.
Prime Location With Strategic Significance
Situated near Umayyad Square, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited urban areas, The Beaumont is designed to serve as a hub for regional and national headquarters, while enhancing the city’s tourism and business appeal.
Its location along the Barada River waterfront further adds to its positioning as a premium urban destination.
Integrated Design And Luxury Offerings
The development will feature two landmark towers forming the centrepiece of the project.
One tower will house a five-star hotel with 150 rooms, including presidential suites, fine dining outlets, a private members’ club, and a luxury spa.
The second tower will offer 26 floors of high-end residences, ranging from serviced apartments to expansive duplex penthouses with panoramic city views.
Additional components include:
A two-level retail centre
An outdoor promenade with cafés and restaurants
A 10-storey business centre designed to attract regional and international companies
Strengthening Syria’s Investment Landscape
H.E. Mazen Al Salhani described the project as a pivotal milestone in revitalising Syria’s tourism industry, highlighting its role in attracting investment, creating jobs, and enhancing global competitiveness.
He also emphasised the Ministry’s commitment to transparency, governance, and regulatory oversight, ensuring a stable and attractive environment for investors.
Wafic Rida Said Said, Founder of Ezdihar Holding, noted that tourism investment plays a critical role in economic recovery and community revitalisation, adding that the project will deliver international-standard hospitality and diversified tourism offerings.
Investing In Talent And Future Growth
As part of the initiative, Ezdihar Holding will sponsor a fully funded training programme for 30 Ministry employees at Saïd Business School, focusing on hospitality, project management, and tourism investment.
This move underscores a commitment to developing national talent and aligning local expertise with global standards, further strengthening investor confidence.
