The General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) successfully hosted the ‘SLC Innovates’ event on February 19 and 20, reinforcing its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation within the legislative sector. The event aimed to anticipate future legal developments and establish a forward-thinking legislative ecosystem that effectively addresses current challenges while adapting to future advancements.
Spanning two days, the event featured engaging presentations and discussions focused on legislative preparedness, knowledge exchange, and innovative methodologies to enhance institutional effectiveness. Participants explored proactive legislative strategies, emphasizing creativity and innovation as key components of an advanced legal framework.

H.E. Ahmad bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the SLC, highlighted the importance of innovation as a fundamental pillar in shaping Dubai’s legislative future. He stated:

Key Highlights of ‘SLC Innovates’
Day 1: The event commenced with interactive activities that emphasized forward-thinking in legislative development. In partnership with 01GOV, the SLC organized the Future Government Game, an initiative designed to promote creative thinking, teamwork, and the concept of zero bureaucracy. Participants discussed methods for anticipating future government challenges using sustainable and smart legislative solutions.
Day 2: SLC’s leading innovators took the stage to share success stories and groundbreaking initiatives, including:
- Dubai Legislative Platform – A digital transformation initiative enhancing legislative accessibility.
- Standards for Innovative Legislative Provisions – Frameworks ensuring future-proof legal regulations.
- Application of the ‘Butterfly Theory’ – A methodology to assess legislative impact on economic and social landscapes.
