Parkin launches first-of-its-kind smart parking camera systems across Dubai
Parkin has announced the rollout of phase one of its advanced smart parking camera systems across Dubai, marking the introduction of the region’s first curb-side parking cameras as part of the emirate’s smart mobility transformation.
The company, which is the largest provider of paid public parking facilities and services in Dubai, said more than 500 curb and pole cameras are currently being installed across key locations including Trade Centre 1, Burj Khalifa, and Al Corniche.
In addition to the on-street parking rollout, Parkin has also deployed parking lot cameras across controlled parking areas in the emirate, with 200 cameras set to be installed across multiple locations.
The AI-enabled systems use advanced camera technology to capture vehicle images, automatically read number plates, detect entry and exit times, calculate parking duration, facilitate automatic fee payments, and identify parking violations. The company added that all cameras will be solar-powered and capable of supporting real-time parking occupancy monitoring.
According to Parkin, the rollout is designed to improve parking availability, reduce congestion caused by drivers searching for parking spaces, and support Dubai’s wider smart mobility and urban infrastructure goals.
The smart parking systems will be fully integrated with the Parkin app, allowing customers to use auto-payment features through the Parkin Wallet for a more seamless parking experience.
Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Parkin, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to adopting advanced technologies that improve parking management and customer convenience across Dubai.
“Adopting advanced smart technologies remains central to how Parkin continues to enhance parking management across Dubai. This rollout marks an important step in scaling our smart parking infrastructure and strengthening how customers interact with parking across the Emirate,” he said.
He added that the company remains focused on enabling efficient access to parking while supporting Dubai’s vision for smarter and more connected urban mobility.
Eng. Talal Al Ajmi, Chief Technology Officer at Parkin, said the deployment represents a major advancement in smart parking technology by enabling more connected and efficient parking operations through real-time data and camera systems.
He noted that integration with the Parkin app would streamline parking management while improving operational accuracy and consistency as the company continues expanding its smart parking capabilities.
Parkin said the first phase of the project is aimed at creating a faster and more predictable parking experience for residents and visitors by reducing the time spent searching for parking spaces, lowering the risk of fines, and enabling seamless automatic payments.
The company added that the initiative will contribute to smoother traffic flow, more efficient urban space utilisation, and enhanced everyday convenience across Dubai.
