MBRF Concludes Participation in London Book Fair 2026, Strengthening Global Knowledge Partnerships

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has successfully concluded its participation in the London Book Fair 2026, held at Olympia London, reaffirming its commitment to advancing global knowledge exchange and collaboration.

During the event, MBRF showcased a diverse portfolio of initiatives and hosted a series of discussion sessions that drew participation from leading writers, researchers, and experts from across the global knowledge sector. The foundation’s presence highlighted its ongoing efforts to promote knowledge production and build strategic partnerships with international academic institutions and publishing houses.

His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, emphasized that participation in the fair reflects the foundation’s belief in fostering sustainable knowledge societies through international collaboration and innovation. He noted that the platform provided an opportunity to exchange expertise and explore partnerships that support knowledge dissemination worldwide.

A key highlight of the event was a session hosted by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award (MBRKA), featuring insights from David M. Clark, an MBRKA laureate, and Nick Rawlins, a member of the award’s advisory board. The discussion underscored the award’s role in fostering intellectual innovation and positioning knowledge as a driver of sustainable development.

The Knowledge Lounge sessions also attracted significant attention. In “Writing Away from Home,” Hamdan Dammag shared his experiences as an expatriate writer, addressing the challenges of preserving cultural and linguistic identity. Meanwhile, in “Poetry and the Love of Language,” Fay Nasir reflected on the emotional connection between language, memory, and identity through poetry and translation.

As part of the ‘KnowTalks’ series, a session on “Building Sustainable Urban Communities” featured Cathy Garner, who highlighted the rapid urban transformation driven by economic and environmental changes. She noted that nearly 70% of the global population is expected to live in cities by 2050, emphasizing the need for sustainable, resilient, and inclusive urban development.

In addition to its public sessions, MBRF held a series of meetings with leading knowledge institutions and publishing houses to explore future collaboration opportunities across multiple sectors.

The foundation’s participation at the London Book Fair 2026 further reinforces its global role in promoting knowledge exchange, supporting intellectual dialogue, and advancing innovation-driven development.
