King Abdullah Economic City and Arcapita Forge Strategic Partnership to Develop Industrial Facilities

King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global alternative investment firm Arcapita to develop cutting-edge warehousing and industrial facilities. The agreement, formalized in a ceremony held in Bahrain, aims to boost the Industrial Valley’s growth, enhance operational capabilities within KAEC and the Kingdom, foster innovation, and attract foreign investment.

Under the partnership, Arcapita will leverage its expertise in developing high-quality, built-to-suit industrial real estate facilities, ensuring that the new warehouses meet the needs of potential tenants. This initiative aligns with KAEC’s broader vision of strengthening Saudi Arabia’s industrial and logistics infrastructure.

The MoU was signed by Eng. Majid Abdullah Matbouly, Chief Officer of the Industrial Valley & KAEC Special Economic Zone, and Isa Al Khalifa, Director of MENA Real Estate at Arcapita. Both parties emphasized their commitment to developing world-class industrial infrastructure that supports sustainable economic growth in Saudi Arabia.

Eng. Majid Abdullah Matbouly highlighted the significance of the agreement, stating: “This MoU is a crucial step in KAEC’s journey to becoming a leading industrial and economic hub. Arcapita’s expertise in global and regional asset management will enhance the Industrial Valley’s competitiveness and attractiveness to global investors.”

The partnership will grant KAEC access to Arcapita’s extensive network of blue-chip tenants, ensuring a steady influx of high-quality investors. Additionally, the development will focus on ESG-compliant warehousing projects, reinforcing environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

Beyond infrastructure development, the MoU outlines promotional and operational roles for both entities. KAEC will coordinate engagement in key economic conferences and industrial initiatives, further positioning the Industrial Valley as Saudi Arabia’s premier industrial hub.

Isa Al Khalifa, Director of MENA Real Estate at Arcapita, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are excited to work with KAEC to establish modern industrial facilities that meet global standards. Our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability will deliver world-class solutions to our partners and stakeholders.”

This collaboration represents a major milestone in KAEC’s industrial expansion efforts. By partnering with Arcapita, KAEC aims to attract foreign investors, provide cutting-edge ESG-compliant warehousing solutions, and elevate its status as a top-tier industrial destination. The initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, driving industrialization, sustainability, and economic diversification in the Kingdom.
