Marjan and Wynn Resorts Break Ground on Janu Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah

Marjan, Ras Al Khaimah's master developer of mixed-use destinations, and its joint venture partner Wynn Resorts have officially broken ground on Janu Al Marjan Island, their second joint hospitality project on Al Marjan Island.

Scheduled to open in 2029, the development will become the first Janu-branded destination in Ras Al Khaimah, expanding Aman Group's footprint in the UAE. The project will be located adjacent to Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE's first integrated gaming resort, reinforcing the island's position as one of the region's fastest-growing tourism and lifestyle destinations.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior executives from Marjan, Wynn Resorts, Aman Group, and key project stakeholders, marking the official start of construction.

Luxury Hotel, Branded Residences and Wellness Experiences

Designed by internationally renowned SCDA Architects, Janu Al Marjan Island will feature a luxury hotel, branded residences, and wellness-focused experiences set within a waterfront destination on Al Marjan Island.

The brand name Janu, which means "soul" in Sanskrit, reflects its philosophy of meaningful human connections, wellbeing, and vibrant social experiences, bringing the concept to Ras Al Khaimah for the first time.

Strengthening Ras Al Khaimah's Tourism Sector

Arch. Abdulla Al Abdouli, Group Chief Executive Officer of Marjan, said the groundbreaking represents another milestone in the long-term vision of transforming Al Marjan Island into a globally recognized waterfront destination.

He added that attracting internationally renowned hospitality brands and investment partners is helping diversify Ras Al Khaimah's tourism offering, enhance its global appeal, and support sustainable economic growth.

According to Al Abdouli, Janu's modern luxury concept aligns with Marjan's vision for the island and marks an important step in its international development.

Complementing Wynn Al Marjan Island

Max Tappeiner, President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, said Janu Al Marjan Island will complement the neighboring integrated resort by introducing a distinctive hospitality experience to the destination.

He noted that the close proximity of both developments is expected to create synergies for guests and residents, enhancing the overall visitor experience on Al Marjan Island.

Aman Group Expands Presence in the UAE

Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, described the groundbreaking as a significant milestone for the Janu brand.

He said Ras Al Khaimah is an ideal location for the brand due to its growing international profile and natural beauty. The development will offer guests and residents an environment that encourages social connections, wellness, and contemporary luxury living while showcasing the emirate's unique coastal landscape.

The project, first announced in November 2025, forms part of the continued expansion of Al Marjan Island, which is rapidly emerging as a major regional destination for luxury hospitality, branded residences, and integrated tourism developments.
