The two-year rotational program aligns with UAE's Emiratization strategy and aims to equip young Emiratis with technical and leadership skills in engineering and sustainable building solutions.
In a significant move to empower national talent, Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable building solutions, has announced the launch of its Emirati Engineering Program—a pioneering initiative in the UAE aimed at developing the next generation of Emirati engineers and technical sales professionals.
Slated to begin this summer, the two-year program represents a substantial investment in local workforce development and is aligned with the UAE government’s Emiratization strategy. Through a series of structured rotations, participants will gain practical experience across core business areas, preparing them to lead in the future of sustainable infrastructure and smart building innovation.
“We are proud to launch this unique initiative to develop the next generation of Emirati engineering experts,” said Devrim Tekeli, Vice President & General Manager for MEA at Johnson Controls. “The UAE is a leader in smart buildings and sustainable infrastructure, and engineering talent is essential in driving this transformation. This program will provide world-class training and career pathways for young Emiratis to make a lasting industry impact.”
Program Highlights: Structured Pathways to Excellence
The Emirati Engineering Program consists of six rotational training modules across two primary domains:
-
Installation & Service Operations – Covering engineering design interpretation, system installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
-
Technical Sales & Customer Engagement – Focused on product expertise, market dynamics, client management, and strategic sales approaches.
Graduates of the program will be well-positioned for leadership roles in engineering, project management, and technical sales, supporting Johnson Controls’ mission to deliver cutting-edge, energy-efficient building solutions.
“Our Emirati Engineering Program is more than just a career development track—it reflects our deep commitment to the UAE’s national vision,” said Lama Gebara, Senior HR Director, MEA at Johnson Controls. “As demand grows for comprehensive building technology partners, investing in local talent is critical. Participants will gain insight from a global leader solving complex energy and sustainability challenges, and join a global network of over 30,000 service technicians.”
