International Airport at Konni - Kerala, India
Dubai: As part of the initiative of Global Indian Association (GIA), one of the largest organisations in the world working for the Non-resident Indians across the globe, to construct and commission an International Airport in Central Travancore and launch a safe, efficient, low-cost consumer airlines service, GIA has registered a company in India, named Indo-Heritage International Aeropolis Pvt. Ltd. This is a company first of its kind in India, probably in the world which is totally buoyed by expatriates and common man residing in Kerala state. The company is promoted by GIA. It is registered for a budget Airlines and an International Airport to be erected in Central Travancore, from where Kerala has a large number of NRIs working across the globe. It was a constant demand from the expatriate Malayalees working in and out of India for an Airport in Central Travancore to have easy conveyance and convenience. The proposed project will gear up the developmental arena of Central Travancore, particularly Pathanamthitta district. It is looking for zero humane, environmental, cultural and social inflicted and affected land for the project. The company has started functioning in Kerala though its administrative offices at Delhi, Trivandrum and Pathanamthitta. The authorities of the Company will soon meet the Government of India and Government of Kerala with the proposals. The Company is planning to approach the Government of Kerala for leasing land for the project and Government of India for the speedy clearance of all required certifications. The company envisages a total cost Rs. 2000 crores for the Airport project which will be invested by overseas Indians around the world.
