His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Presents Sheikha Fatima Award to 38 Exceptional Female GEMS Students

H.E. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development presented the H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Honors for Excellence to 38 girls from GEMS Education colleges throughout the UAE, on 1 Could at GEMS Nations Academy.

The honors were introduced by GEMS Education in 2005, under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, to honour the Mother of the Country, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, wife of late President His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for her contributions to the empowerment of ladies in the UAE and her support for excellence in all areas.

Chosen by their school for their outstanding academic success, commitment to social obligation and Global Citizenship, the victors were each presented with a scholarship covering a year's tuition cost at their particular GEMS school and were recognized in today's ceremony.

Sir Christopher Stone, Chief Education Officer, GEMS Education, said: "I would love to praise these young ladies not just for their outstanding scholastic achievements yet likewise for their significant payments to their school and the wider community. The awards celebrate the skill that our students possess. They maintain their social commitment in addition to attain academic and extra-curricular excellence. Each one of these women recognized today are good example and are the leaders of tomorrow."
