Federal Tax Authority Holds First VAT Business Advisory Group Meeting of 2026
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has convened the first meeting of its VAT Business Advisory Group for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening engagement with the UAE business community and enhancing cooperation between taxpayers and tax authorities.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Mulla, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, along with representatives from a wide range of economic sectors. Participants joined both in person and virtually, reflecting the Authority’s efforts to maintain open and accessible channels of communication with stakeholders.
The VAT Business Advisory Group is part of a broader framework of business advisory groups established by the FTA, including specialised groups representing various industries. These initiatives aim to foster stronger partnerships with the private sector, facilitate direct dialogue with taxpayers, improve tax compliance, and enhance tax-related services and procedures in line with international best practices.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the Authority and businesses, exchanging practical insights, and identifying opportunities to further improve the UAE’s tax environment.
Speaking at the session, His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Mulla emphasized the Authority’s commitment to expanding communication and cooperation with the business community while reinforcing the principles of public-private sector partnership.
He noted that such meetings provide valuable opportunities for exchanging views and expertise, helping to shape a tax system that effectively supports the needs of different economic sectors.
“These meetings represent an important platform for constructive dialogue and the exchange of practical feedback between the FTA and representatives of the business community,” said Al Mulla.
“They contribute to the development of tax services and procedures, improve the customer experience, enhance tax compliance, and reinforce transparency and clarity in the implementation of tax legislation.”
The Director General also highlighted the Authority’s ongoing efforts to modernise and expand its digital services, improve operational efficiency, and utilise advanced technologies to better serve taxpayers.
According to Al Mulla, these initiatives are designed to simplify procedures, enhance service quality, and create a more seamless experience for businesses and individuals interacting with the tax system.
He further stressed that feedback and recommendations from business community representatives remain a key component of the Authority’s continuous improvement strategy, helping ensure that tax services remain responsive to evolving market needs.
The meeting forms part of a wider series of awareness and engagement initiatives regularly organised by the FTA to strengthen stakeholder relations, increase understanding of tax obligations, and gather feedback from taxpayers.
Through these ongoing consultations, the Authority aims to support the development of an efficient, transparent, and flexible tax framework that aligns with the UAE’s long-term vision for a sustainable, competitive, and future-ready economy.
The FTA reaffirmed that collaboration with the business community will remain central to its efforts to enhance tax administration, improve compliance standards, and contribute to the continued growth and resilience of the UAE’s economic landscape.
