Eid Al Fitr 2026: Sharjah Announces Free Parking for 3 Days
Sharjah, United Arab Emirates: Public parking in Sharjah will be free for three days during Eid Al Fitr 2026, authorities have confirmed, offering residents and visitors added convenience during the festive period.
The exemption applies to the first, second, and third days of Eid, although it does not include smart parking zones or areas where fees are applicable طوال the week and public holidays, as indicated by blue signage.
Transport Plan for Smooth Eid Travel
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has also unveiled a comprehensive operational plan to ensure efficient and seamless mobility across the emirate during the holidays.
Key measures include:

4,600 intercity bus trips scheduled during Eid

Reduced waiting times, with bus frequency increased to every 5 minutes during peak hours

12 public transport routes operating 1,144 daily trips

Coverage across 527 bus stops using a fleet of 104 buses
Enhanced Connectivity with Dubai
To further support holiday travel, authorities have arranged 8 daily marine transport trips between Sharjah and Dubai, offering passengers additional commuting options and helping ease congestion on roads.
UAE-Wide Parking Relief
Sharjah joins Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which have already announced parking fee exemptions for the Eid holiday, reflecting a nationwide effort to make travel easier and more accessible during one of the busiest festive periods of the year.
The combined initiatives aim to reduce congestion, improve public transport efficiency, and enhance the overall holiday experience for residents and visitors across the UAE.
