Residents and visitors in Sharjah will benefit from three days of free public parking during Eid Al Fitr, authorities have confirmed.

The exemption applies on the first, second, and third day of Eid, allowing motorists to park free of charge across most public zones. However, the authority clarified that this does not include smart parking zones and areas marked with blue informational signs, where fees remain applicable even during holidays.

The announcement follows similar festive initiatives in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where parking exemptions have also been introduced to ease mobility during the holiday period.

Transport Plan for Eid

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has rolled out a comprehensive operational plan to ensure smooth travel across the emirate during the festive period.

Key highlights include:

• 4,600 intercity transport trips scheduled during Eid

• Reduced bus waiting times to 5 minutes during peak hours

• 12 public transport routes covering 527 bus stops

• 1,144 daily trips operated using a fleet of 104 buses

• 8 daily marine trips between Sharjah and Dubai

The plan is designed to enhance passenger convenience, reduce congestion, and provide efficient connectivity across the emirate and beyond.
