Dubai to Host 10th Annual World Congress of the World Free Zones Organization
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the city is set to host the 10th edition of the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) World Congress. The event will take place at Madinat Jumeirah from 23-25 September, themed "Zones and the Shifting Global Economic Structures – Unlocking New Investment Avenues."
This year's congress marks a significant milestone as it celebrates the World FZO’s 10th anniversary. The event will gather representatives from over 100 countries and attract more than 2,000 global business leaders, underscoring Dubai’s pivotal role in advancing the international economic zone sector. The World FZO’s contribution to global trade, through which more than a third of international commerce flows, will be a key focus, alongside discussions on enhancing economic zones' roles in supporting national economies, boosting trade exchanges, and driving digital economy initiatives.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Zarooni, Chairman of the World FZO, emphasized Dubai’s commitment to the development of global economic zones, aligning with the city's ambitious Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). The event aims to foster collaboration, explore future opportunities in economic zones, and support Dubai's goal to establish trade corridors with 400 new cities by 2033.
Since its inception, the World FZO has grown to include over 1,600 members from 141 countries, with global representation through 12 regional offices and 42 national contact points.
