The Dubai Police, in partnership with the General Department of Community Happiness, Positive Spirit, and the Government of Dubai, organized a landmark community awareness event at Dubai Hor Al Anz Park on June 2, 2024. The event, titled the Hor Al Anz Community Tournament 2024, aimed to tackle the pressing issue of drug and narcotics abuse within the community.

During the event, the Dubai Police conveyed several critical messages to the audience:

1. Report Drug Promotion: Attendees were encouraged to report any drug promotion messages received via WhatsApp or social media platforms. The Dubai Police highlighted the importance of promptly reporting such instances using the Dubai Police application. Screenshots of the messages should be submitted to the E-Crime section of the app for immediate action.

2. Zero Tolerance Policy: The Dubai Police reiterated their unwavering commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance stance towards drug-related offenses. Stringent measures against individuals involved in drug trafficking or abuse remain a top priority for law enforcement.

3. Supportive Approach: Recognizing the complexities surrounding drug abuse, the Dubai Police assured attendees that individuals who voluntarily seek assistance, whether for prosecution or rehabilitation, would be treated with empathy and support. No legal action would be taken against those who come forward voluntarily. However, rigorous legal procedures would be enforced for individuals apprehended for drug-related offenses.

This event marks the beginning of a series of community-focused initiatives planned by the Dubai Police and Positive Spirit. Through collaborative efforts, similar events to the Hor Al Anz Community Tournament 2024 will be organized across different communities in Dubai in the coming weeks, accompanied by various sports activities.
