PMI Supports Saudi Vision 2030 at Global Project Management Forum

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and H.E. Saleh Al-Jasser, the Project Management Institute (PMI) is set to host the third Global Project Management Forum (GPMF) in Riyadh from June 1-3, 2024. Themed “Achieving the Dream: Leadership, Empowerment, Sustainability,” this event underscores PMI’s commitment to Saudi Arabia's ambitious Vision 2030.

PMI, the premier authority for project management professionals globally, is pivotal in equipping the Saudi workforce with essential skills to execute mega projects aligned with Vision 2030’s strategic goals. The 2024 GPMF will convene industry leaders to explore emerging trends, technologies, and innovations in project management, furthering the Kingdom's economic diversification efforts.

Government officials, regional and global experts, project managers, and thought leaders will gather to discuss strategies for successful project implementation. The forum will feature masterclasses, keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

On June 1, Lenka Pincot, PMI’s Chief of Staff to the CEO, will co-facilitate a workshop on AI-driven project management solutions. Pincot emphasizes the transformative potential of AI in enhancing project success.

Americo Pinto, Managing Director of PMOGA - PMI, will lead a session on best practices for mega projects, advocating for innovation and collaboration among industry experts and government leaders.

Benjamin Breen, PMI's Global Director of Construction, will join a panel on Giga project success factors on June 2. This will be followed by a keynote from Pincot on AI’s impact on project management.

Ike Nwankwo, a PMI Board Director, will discuss the integration of AI in project management, highlighting the need for adaptable skills and new technologies.

On the forum's final day, June 3, Abdullah AlQahtani, PMI KSA Chapter VP, will address project performance reporting. Pinto will also lead a technical session on the evolving role of PMOs.

LuAnn Piccard, PMI Board Chair, will participate in a panel on training and development's role in project success. She underscores the necessity of a comprehensive skillset for modern project managers.

A roundtable on urban and infrastructure expansion in MENA, featuring key organizations like PIF, Aramco, and PwC, will showcase the significant contributions of Saudi mega projects to economic growth and quality of life.

Eng. Badr M. Burshaid, President of the GPMF and PMI KSA Chapter, expressed excitement about hosting the forum, highlighting PMI's ongoing support for Saudi Arabia’s project management sector and Vision 2030.

Through strategic collaboration, PMI aims to enhance Saudi Arabia's economic and social landscapes, bolstering the Kingdom’s global economic standing.
