Dubai Judicial Institute Holds Second Board Meeting of 2025 to Advance Legal Training Excellence
The Board of Directors of the Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) convened its second meeting of the year on May 27, 2025, at the Institute’s headquarters. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Counsellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai and Chairman of the DJI Board of Directors.
Also present were key legal leaders, including H.E. Professor Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts and Vice Chairman of the Board; H.E. Counsellor Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department; H.E. Counsellor Ahmed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee of Dubai; H.E. Counsellor Abdul-Moneim Salem bin Suwaidan, Lawyer; and H.E. Judge Dr. Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi, Director General of the Dubai Judicial Institute.
The session opened with the ratification of the minutes from the previous meeting and the review of the DJI’s Annual Report for 2024. The report emphasized the Institute’s commitment to global standards in judicial training and its pivotal role in strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for justice and legal excellence.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to discussing future partnerships with legal and training institutions. The Board stressed the importance of expanding collaborative efforts to enhance DJI’s influence and outreach. Among the key initiatives reviewed was the forthcoming launch of the ‘Judicial and Legal Studies Program for Judicial Trainees – Criminal Track’, a specialized program aimed at preparing Emirati legal professionals for advanced roles within the criminal judiciary.
Concluding the meeting, the Board reiterated the Institute’s ongoing efforts to update its training strategies and programs to meet evolving legal and judicial needs. These enhancements support DJI’s mission of serving as a leading center for legal education and knowledge development.
Importantly, the Dubai Judicial Institute has recently received official accreditation from the National Qualifications Center, under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, solidifying its status as a certified judicial training authority in the UAE.
