Canadian Specialist Hospital (CSH) has announced a major expansion of its Oncology Services, introducing dedicated Onco-Surgery subspecialties under one roof as part of its commitment to advancing comprehensive cancer care in the UAE.

The expansion, announced on July 22, 2026, marks a new milestone in the hospital's 23-year legacy of delivering patient-centred healthcare. The hospital currently serves approximately 250,000 patients annually and aims to strengthen access to specialised cancer treatment through multidisciplinary care and advanced surgical expertise.

Expanded Surgical Oncology Services

As cancer treatment becomes increasingly specialised, Canadian Specialist Hospital has enhanced its Surgical Oncology capabilities by bringing together experts across multiple cancer disciplines.

The expansion includes the appointment of three internationally experienced surgical oncologists:

• Dr. Amit Balai Chakraborty – Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist, specialising in cancers of the oral cavity, tongue, thyroid, larynx, hypopharynx, parotid gland, and mandibular reconstruction. He has performed more than 1,000 cancer surgeries internationally.
• Dr. Vivek Sukumar – Gastrointestinal and Gynaecological Surgical Oncologist, with expertise in treating cancers of the stomach, oesophagus, liver, pancreas, colon, rectum, and female reproductive system using advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
• Dr. Jay Anam – Breast Surgical Oncologist, specialising in breast-conserving surgery, oncoplastic procedures, reconstructive surgery, and S-LYMPHA, a preventive surgical technique designed to reduce the risk of postoperative lymphoedema in breast cancer patients.

The appointments strengthen the hospital's ability to manage both highly complex cancer cases and routine oncology procedures, reducing the need for patients to seek specialised surgical treatment abroad.

Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Cancer Care

The hospital's Oncology Department, located in Abu Hail, Deira, is led by Dr. Anwar Alroubaie, Medical Oncology Consultant, who holds fellowship training in Medical Oncology, a Doctorate in Clinical Oncology, and memberships with international organisations including ESMO and ASCO.

The department offers an integrated approach to cancer treatment through a multidisciplinary team, providing a range of advanced therapies, including:

1. Chemotherapy
2. Immunotherapy
3. Targeted therapy
4. Hormonal therapy
5. Surgical oncology

These services are supported by advanced diagnostic technologies that enable accurate diagnosis and personalised treatment planning.

Rashid Al Falasi, Executive Director of Canadian Specialist Hospital Dubai, said the expansion reflects the hospital's commitment to improving access to specialised oncology care across the UAE.

He noted that bringing together highly experienced surgical oncologists under one roof will enhance access to advanced cancer treatment, reduce the need for overseas medical travel, and strengthen the hospital's position as a regional centre for comprehensive oncology services.

CSR Initiative Supports Cancer Patients

To mark the expansion, Canadian Specialist Hospital also launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative offering selected patients complimentary second medical opinions and specialist assessments for complex cancer cases.

The initiative aims to improve access to expert oncology guidance and support patients seeking specialised advice for challenging cancer diagnoses.
