Abu Dhabi Residents Can Now Digitally Appeal Municipal Violations via ‘Tamm’ Platform

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport has announced a new initiative that allows residents to submit digital appeals against municipal violations through the ‘Tamm’ platform. This digital transformation aims to streamline the process and enhance transparency in handling administrative penalties.

According to the department, individuals now have up to one week from the issuance of a violation to submit an objection online via the ‘Tamm’ platform. The service is designed to offer a convenient, paperless experience, allowing users to either pay fines or contest them without needing to visit municipal offices.

To initiate an appeal, residents must log into the platform using their UAE Pass, upload the necessary documents as evidence supporting their objection, and confirm that the cause of the violation has been rectified. Authorities will review the submissions according to the legal timelines specified for each type of violation.

Importantly, the appeal service carries no additional fees and is limited to one submission per unpaid violation. Appeals must be filed directly by the individual involved, who must also pledge to resolve the underlying issue. Site inspections may be conducted to verify compliance, and in cases where violations persist, penalties may be reinstated or even doubled in accordance with relevant laws.

The move aligns with Abu Dhabi’s broader goals of fostering a transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric governance model. By requiring documentation and allowing digital submissions, the initiative is expected to build greater public trust and reduce procedural delays in handling minor municipal offenses.
