World-Renowned Therapist Marisa Peer Launches Global “One Billion Lives Initiative” from Dubai to Tackle Mental Health Crisis
Internationally acclaimed therapist, bestselling author, and founder of Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), Marisa Peer, has unveiled a bold global movement—The One Billion Lives Initiative—with the mission of transforming one billion lives through accessible, effective mental health support.
The initiative seeks to train 100,000 new RTT practitioners worldwide to help fill the global shortfall in mental health professionals and extend healing to underserved populations. It arrives in response to alarming World Health Organization (WHO) data revealing that 1 in 8 people globally suffer from mental health disorders, costing the world economy over £1 trillion in lost productivity annually.
“Mental wellbeing is not a luxury; it’s a fundamental human right,” said Peer. “With this initiative, we’re not just making support accessible—we’re making it transformational.”
Transforming Access to Mental Health Support
Rooted in Peer’s powerful Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) approach—which blends hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP, CBT, neuroscience, and quantum physics—the initiative aims to make transformational tools available in workplaces, schools, and community centers, especially in areas with limited access to support.
Since establishing the RTT School in 2015, Peer has already trained more than 18,000 therapists and coaches globally. Now based in Dubai, she is expanding her mission with a bursary program designed to help teachers, carers, healthcare workers, and community leaders access RTT training and bring mental health solutions to their networks.
Real Lives, Real Impact
Personal testimonies highlight the life-changing power of RTT:
-
Samira Alexander, one of the earliest RTT trainees, overcame a lifetime of trauma from bullying and racism through a single RTT session:
“RTT didn’t just heal old wounds—it gave me the tools to live from confidence and purpose.”
Now based in Dubai, she helps others break free from emotional blocks.
-
Shaun, who battled depression and addiction:
“RTT saved my life… For the first time in years, I felt hope.”
He now shares his story to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health.
-
Chris, who rediscovered his identity and career path: “RTT helped me let go of who I thought I had to be and become who I truly am.”
He transitioned into a new career and found purpose and clarity.
Addressing a Global Shortfall
With fewer than 13 mental health workers per 100,000 people globally, the One Billion Lives Initiative responds to an urgent need for scalable, effective mental health solutions. Peer’s goal is to empower a global network of practitioners who can offer rapid, meaningful transformation to individuals and communities worldwide.
This movement aligns with the UAE’s own prioritization of wellbeing and innovation, positioning Dubai as a hub for mental health transformation and global impact.
