Dubai Basketball Names Al Jalila Foundation as Official Charity Partner Until 2026

Partnership to Support Patients and Promote Community Solidarity Under UAE Year of Community 2025

Dubai Basketball has announced a strategic partnership with Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health, naming it the official Charity Partner of the club through the end of 2026. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to using the unifying power of sport to support patients and strengthen community values in alignment with the UAE Year of Community 2025.

Under the partnership, Dubai Basketball will welcome members of key Al Jalila Foundation programmes—including Ta’alouf, A’awen, and Majlis Al Amal (the UAE’s first community centre dedicated to female cancer patients)—to attend games and club events, offering a sense of encouragement and belonging to patients and their families.

In a move to raise awareness and inspire fans, patient stories will be featured on arena screens during matches, inviting deeper community engagement with the Foundation’s mission and initiatives.

Recently, the club hosted ten children supported by Al Jalila Foundation, giving them a chance to meet players in a special experience designed to foster social inclusion and highlight the emotional benefits of sport.

Dejan Kamenjašević, General Manager and Co-Founder of Dubai Basketball, stated:

“We believe sport has the potential to make a genuine and sustainable impact on people’s lives. This partnership goes beyond the court to deliver real support to patients and families across the UAE. It’s a humanitarian collaboration that reflects our shared dedication to compassion and community.”

Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, added:

“Sport is a powerful platform for emotional healing and social connection. This partnership is not just about entertainment—it’s about creating joyful and transformative moments for patients. By involving them in Dubai Basketball’s activities, we’re building bridges between healthcare and community, offering hope and human connection.”

With over 60,000 fans attending Dubai Basketball games at Coca-Cola Arena during the 2024/2025 season, the club continues to broaden its outreach and youth development efforts, supporting the UAE’s national agenda of inclusive and sustainable community growth.
