nap Brings Immersive AR Experiences to Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris

Snap Inc., in partnership with the Esports Foundation, has unveiled its largest-ever activation for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026, introducing a range of augmented reality (AR), creator-led, and location-based experiences designed to bring fans closer to the action both at the venue and on Snapchat.

The Esports World Cup, taking place in Paris from July 6 to August 23, 2026, marks the first international edition of the global gaming tournament. Through its expanded partnership with the Esports Foundation, Snap aims to enhance fan engagement by integrating immersive digital experiences throughout the seven-week event.

One of the key highlights is the integration of Snap's CamKit technology into arena video boards, allowing spectators to interact with Snapchat Lenses during live competitions. Fans attending the tournament will also have access to an exclusive Esports World Cup Lens, created specifically for the event.

Snapchat users worldwide can participate in the tournament experience through a dedicated Esports World Cup AR experience on the platform. Visitors at the venue will also benefit from Snap Map, which helps attendees navigate key event locations, fan festival zones, and activities across the venue. Additionally, interactive AR Mirror installations will offer immersive and shareable experiences throughout the tournament.

As part of the collaboration, Snap and the Esports Foundation have also partnered with leading content creators to produce daily event coverage, including match reactions, behind-the-scenes content, and exclusive updates from across the competition.

Commenting on the partnership, Hussain Alhajjar, Head of MENA Partnerships at Snap Inc., said gaming continues to be one of the most active communities on Snapchat, particularly in Saudi Arabia, where millions of users engage with gaming-related content every month. He noted that the Esports World Cup has become one of the world's most significant gaming events, and Snap is excited to introduce its largest activation to date, creating new opportunities for fans to connect with the competition, creators, and esports culture.

AbdulKareem Niazi, Director of Corporate Marketing, Campaigns and PR at the Esports Foundation, said the Esports World Cup is driven by its diverse global communities, each bringing its own language, traditions, humour, and style of celebrating the games they love. He added that the partnership with Snap provides new ways for these communities to showcase their creativity to audiences around the world.

The Esports World Cup 2026 is expected to feature more than 2,000 professional players competing across 25 tournaments for a record-breaking prize pool of $75 million. Over the course of seven weeks, the event will unite leading esports titles, players, creators, and fans, reinforcing its position as one of the world's largest celebrations of competitive gaming.

With Paris hosting the tournament's first international edition, the collaboration between Snap and the Esports Foundation aims to blend cutting-edge technology with community-driven content, offering fans an enhanced and interactive esports experience both inside the arenas and across digital platforms.
