Wilo and Masdar Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Green Energy and Efficiency

Agreement signed in Dubai in the presence of NRW Minister-President Hendrik Wüst underscores joint vision for sustainable innovation

In a landmark move toward a more sustainable future, Wilo, the global technology group, and Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC), the UAE’s leading clean energy company, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at accelerating the deployment of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies across the Middle East and beyond.

The agreement was formalized in Dubai during a special ceremony attended by Hendrik Wüst, Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany. The signing marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between two innovation leaders in the global energy transition.

“This cooperation agreement is a symbolic response to the global energy crisis,” said Oliver Hermes, President and CEO of the Wilo Group. “Expanding renewable energy generation and advancing energy efficiency must go hand in hand. Only by addressing both the supply and demand sides of energy can we achieve successful transitions on a global scale.”

Hermes emphasized that collaboration is essential to tackling today’s most pressing challenges.

“We strongly believe in the power of strategic partnerships—such as the one between Wilo and Masdar—to drive meaningful change.”

Representing Masdar, Husain Al Meer, Director of Global Offshore Wind & UK, highlighted the synergy between the two organizations:

“This agreement brings together Masdar’s green energy expertise and Wilo’s state-of-the-art heating and cooling technologies. Together, we aim to deliver integrated, sustainable solutions for industries and communities worldwide.”

“It also strengthens our ties with Germany—a strategic market and a key focus of our international growth,” he added.

The signing ceremony was held at Wilo’s recently expanded manufacturing facility in Dubai, a regional hub that reflects the company’s growing footprint in the Middle East. Minister-President Hendrik Wüst, who is leading a four-day economic delegation through Qatar and the UAE, praised Wilo’s transformation and its global outlook.

“Wilo represents the evolution of industry—from coal mining in North Rhine-Westphalia to pioneering sustainable water and energy technologies across the globe,” Wüst noted. “With its expansion in the UAE, Wilo demonstrates how climate-conscious innovation from NRW can help shape a greener future worldwide.”

The partnership is expected to deliver integrated solutions tailored to the needs of smart cities, infrastructure, and industrial operations, positioning both companies at the forefront of the global shift to sustainable development.
