UAE Expands Golden Visa Eligibility to Three New Key Categories

Educators, gaming professionals, and luxury yacht owners are the latest groups eligible for the UAE's coveted 10-year Golden Visa, showcasing the nation’s dedication to attracting talent, fostering innovation, and encouraging investment.

New Categories of Golden Visa Recipients

  1. Outstanding Teachers and Educators

    • Dubai educators in schools, early childhood centres (ECCs), and higher education institutions (HEIs) are now eligible for the Golden Visa, provided they meet academic, innovation, and institutional contribution criteria.
    • In Ras Al Khaimah, the Golden Visa has been extended to private school educators, principals, and department heads.
    • This initiative emphasizes the UAE’s focus on elevating educational standards and recognizing excellence in teaching.
  2. Gaming Professionals

    • The introduction of the ‘Dubai Gaming Visa’ under the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 (DPG33) aims to make Dubai a global hub for gaming and e-sports.
    • Applicants must secure accreditation from Dubai Culture and meet specific criteria, including a minimum age of 25 years.
    • Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) also offers Golden Visas for gaming professionals, reinforcing support for the UAE’s burgeoning e-sports industry.
  3. Luxury Yacht Owners

    • Under Abu Dhabi’s ‘Golden Quay’ initiative, luxury yacht owners with vessels 40 metres or longer can now qualify for a Golden Visa.
    • The programme also recognizes key executives in the yachting sector and stakeholders in yacht-building, services, and insurance.
    • Family members of eligible nominees are included, supporting high-net-worth individuals investing in Abu Dhabi.

Significance of the Expansion

The UAE’s expanded Golden Visa programme reflects its vision to foster economic growth, nurture talent, and solidify its position as a global innovation and luxury hub. These measures align with national strategies to attract professionals in education, technology, and high-net-worth sectors.
