Synology Unveils AI-Ready Data Management and Cyber Resilience Solutions at COMPUTEX 2026

Synology, a global technology company specializing in data management, security, and protection solutions, has announced a series of major product updates at COMPUTEX 2026, aimed at helping organizations strengthen cyber resilience, improve data governance, and accelerate AI-driven transformation.

The latest enhancements span Synology’s data management, backup and recovery, surveillance, business productivity, and private cloud portfolios, reflecting the increasing demand among GCC organizations for greater control over data, enhanced security, and readiness for emerging AI workloads.

The announcements come at a time when businesses across the Middle East are re-evaluating how they manage rapidly expanding data volumes, secure distributed IT environments, and ensure business continuity across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructures.

According to industry forecasts, IT spending across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is expected to reach USD 169 billion in 2026, representing an 8.9 percent increase from 2025, while information security spending is projected to rise to USD 4 billion.

Philip Wong, Chairman and CEO of Synology, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering customers with secure and reliable data management solutions.

“Data is at the heart of everything we build, and trust is the foundation. From enterprise infrastructure to personal cloud solutions, we develop every product to give users complete control over their data, backed by uncompromising security, reliability, and privacy, so they can embrace what’s next with confidence,” Wong said.

AI-Ready Enterprise Data Infrastructure

A key highlight of the launch is the next-generation DiskStation Manager (DSM), which introduces capabilities designed for AI-ready and enterprise-scale environments.

The updated DSM supports GPU-powered NAS systems and AI appliances, enabling organizations to perform on-premises AI inference and governance while maintaining full control over their data. Synology also unveiled DSM Agent for workflow automation and orchestration, alongside Cluster Manager, which centralizes management of large-scale deployments, workload migration, quality-of-service controls, and protection management.

Additional enhancements include Active Insight’s Mass Deployment functionality for faster multi-site provisioning and an upgraded Log Center designed to strengthen compliance, security monitoring, and operational visibility.

Enhanced Backup and Recovery with ActiveProtect

Synology also introduced ActiveProtect Manager 2.0, expanding backup and disaster recovery capabilities across multiple platforms including AWS EC2, Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, Proxmox, Nutanix AHV, and Google Workspace.

The platform now enables cross-platform recovery across hybrid cloud and virtualized environments while incorporating AI-powered anomaly and malware detection features to help organizations identify threats and improve recovery readiness.

Complementing the update is the launch of the new DP5200 appliance, which expands Synology’s ActiveProtect portfolio and provides an additional deployment option for centralized data protection.

Expanded Surveillance and Security Solutions

Further strengthening its security ecosystem, Synology unveiled new surveillance and access control products, including the AC100 door controller, AR Series access readers, and DC Series dome cameras.

The company also introduced Deep Video Analytics appliances featuring AI-powered semantic event search and re-identification path tracking capabilities.

Additionally, Synology launched Surveillance365, a Video Surveillance-as-a-Service (VSaaS) platform that integrates with on-premises Surveillance Station deployments. The solution enables hybrid cloud monitoring for organizations operating remote locations and multi-site environments, supporting centralized security management across distributed infrastructures.

Business Productivity with On-Premises AI

In the business productivity segment, Synology expanded its Office Suite with the introduction of ChatPlus and Meet, offering secure messaging and virtual meeting capabilities under full organizational control.

Both solutions feature AI-powered transcription and translation capabilities while ensuring data remains stored on-premises, helping organizations enhance collaboration without compromising privacy or governance requirements.

New Private Cloud Features for Consumers

For home users and individuals, Synology announced updates to its BeeStation and BeeStation Plus private cloud solutions.

New features include BeeCamera, which enables home monitoring through BeeStation Plus using Synology cameras, and Synology Deep Search, an AI-powered local search tool for macOS and Windows that helps users quickly locate and manage personal content while maintaining full privacy and local data ownership.

Supporting the GCC’s Digital Transformation

Commenting on the significance of the updates for the region, Mike Chen, Senior Regional Sales Manager for the Middle East at Synology, said organizations are increasingly seeking greater visibility, governance, and operational resilience as they navigate more complex data environments.

He noted that the company’s latest enhancements establish a secure data management framework, strengthen recovery readiness, and provide the infrastructure required to support future AI initiatives.

With the latest innovations across enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, surveillance, collaboration, and private cloud environments, Synology aims to help organizations and individuals maximize the value of their data while maintaining security, privacy, and control in an increasingly AI-driven world.
