His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, reviewed the significant achievements of Empower, the world’s largest district cooling services provider, during the 26th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2024). Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition, which started today, was organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
During his visit to Empower's booth, Sheikh Ahmed, along with H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, was introduced to the world’s largest district cooling project in Business Bay, which holds a Guinness World Record. Empower's CEO, H.E. Ahmad Bin Shafar, detailed the project’s capacity of 451,540 refrigeration tons (RT), consisting of nine plants, four of which are operational, serving 188 buildings via a 52.4 km pipeline network.
Empower's achievements, including global awards won in 2024, were highlighted during the visit. Ahmad Bin Shafar emphasized that the growing demand for district cooling is driven by the need for sustainable, cost-effective technologies that reduce carbon emissions, aligning with global environmental preservation goals.
WETEX 2024 serves as a crucial platform for cooperation across energy sectors, offering opportunities for partnerships, technological exchange, and strategic deals. The exhibition remains a key hub for industry professionals, investors, and decision-makers to explore the latest innovations in energy, water, and environmental technologies.
