Sharjah Police Launch ‘Our First Lesson is Safety’ Campaign Ahead of New Academic Year
As the 2025–26 academic year approaches, Sharjah Police have announced a comprehensive set of measures aimed at easing traffic congestion around schools and enhancing student safety.
The initiative, titled “Our First Lesson is Safety”, is being implemented in coordination with the traffic, operations, security media, and community protection units.
Mobile Operations Room for Faster Response
Colonel Mohammed Al Shamsi, Director of the Operations Centre, revealed that a mobile operations room will be deployed to provide live broadcasts of road conditions near schools during peak hours. This system will allow rapid responses to traffic bottlenecks and integrate with the Ma’man platform — a system developed in collaboration with the Sharjah Private Education Authority to manage student emergency calls and track school buses from pick-up to drop-off.
Public Awareness Campaign for All Ages
In addition to operational measures, the campaign will focus on public awareness. Colonel Abdulrahman Khater, Deputy Director of Security Media, explained that educational content will be rolled out for students across all age groups via traditional and digital channels.
This includes videos, interactive advertisements, and simple, clear messaging designed to encourage safe behaviour in and around school zones.
Sharjah Police are urging parents, school staff, and the wider community to cooperate in ensuring a safe and smooth start to the school year.
