Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer meets Nasser Al Suwaidi to enhance cooperation
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy consulted with HE Nasser Al Suwaidi, Member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Energy Authority. They discussed ways to boost cooperation to attain the UAE Vision 2021 to make the UAE among the very best countries worldwide by 2021, and to enhance UAE's position as an international role model in attaining the greatest standards of energy efficiency, and enhancing the share of sustainable and clean energy. The meeting belongs to the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy's efforts to exchange skills and experiences with other federal government, federal, and regional organisations, to attain the UAE's vision of boosting the government's abilities, particularly energy. HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, and Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at DEWA, also attended.
Al Tayer invited Al Suwaidi and commended the extensive efforts made by the federal government of Abu Dhabi in energy and sustainability. Al Tayer provided the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030.
Al Tayer kept in mind that the Council had actually evaluated and updated the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy for 2030, with the launch of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 introduced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to produce 75 % of Dubai's energy from clean sources by 2050.
Al Tayer also stressed the value of improving sustainability and making efficient use of clean and renewable energy to guarantee adequate future electrical energy and water supplies to support the sustainable development of the UAE, and to meet the economic goals and requirements of generations to come.
