OSN shows scoop top accolades at 66th Annual Primetime Emmys
The rich, star-studded line-up of the best and most popular television series, available only on the regions leading pay-TV network, OSN, bagged record-breaking awards at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
Celebrating the whos who of television, from actors and supporting talent, to directors and writers, the annual celebration of TVs best aired live and exclusively on OSN First HD providing viewers with several unforgettable moments including Weird Al Yankovic and Andy Sambergs special appearance performing parodies of hit TV show theme songs, including "Game of Thrones," "Mad Men," "Scandal" and more.
With record-breaking nominations in various leading categories this year, the widely followed Breaking Bad won several awards from Exceptional Writing for a Drama Series, to Aaron Pauls fantastic role as Jesse Pinkman, which landed him the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Bryan Cranston picked up the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his unforgettable portrayal of Walter White and the critically-acclaimed series also won the Emmy for Best Drama Series.
Televisions favourite family, more commonly known as Modern Family, took home the Outstanding Comedy Series Award, for the fifth consecutive year, while Ty Burrell, the actor behind the persona of Phil Dunphy, was crowned the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Renowned and celebrated comedienne, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, was crowned Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (second win in a row), for her portrayal of the Vice President of the United States of America, Selena Meyer, and her reign over her disorderly administration in VEEP.
For the second year in a row The Colbert Report achieved the Outstanding Variety Series award, while the Outstanding Talk Show award went to Ellen Degeneres for her remarkable talk show, The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Washingtons favourite fixing firm, Olivia Pope and Associates, depicted in Scandal, scooped the award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series; while HBOs True Detective indeed proved its mettle through the Outstanding Directing and Casting for a Drama Series award.
Game of Thrones, which recently marked the culmination of its fourth season on OSN, and undoubtedly one of TVs most-followed series, walked away with four awards including Outstanding Art Direction and Costumes for a series.
The secret of the coven was once again celebrated with the third season of American Horror Story: Coven, bagging two of its four nominations, including for Jessica Langes portrayal of Fiona Goode, the keeper of the coven.
