dubizzle Inspection Data Reveals Common Vehicle Problems Ahead of UAE's Peak Summer Heat

Thousands of motorists across the UAE could be driving vehicles with mechanical issues that may worsen during the country's hottest weeks, according to new inspection data released by dubizzle Cars.

The company's inspection team analysed more than 20,000 vehicles across the UAE since January 2026, identifying recurring faults that, while often minor initially, could develop into costly repairs or safety risks when exposed to extreme summer temperatures.

According to the findings, high temperatures place additional strain on critical vehicle components such as engines, batteries, cooling systems, and belts, making preventative maintenance especially important during the summer months.

Sherif Magdy, Sales Director at dubizzle Cars, said the inspection programme provides valuable insights into the condition of vehicles on UAE roads. He noted that many of the issues identified are preventable if addressed early, helping motorists avoid breakdowns, reduce repair costs, improve road safety, and protect the long-term value of their vehicles.

Most Common Mechanical Issues

The inspection data highlighted several recurring problems affecting vehicles across the country:

  • 58% showed engine idling vibrations, commonly linked to worn engine mounts.
  • 38% had idler pulley noise, indicating worn components that could fail under prolonged heat.
  • 27% displayed signs of engine oil sweating.
  • 27% had noisy engine belts requiring maintenance or replacement.
  • 15% were found to have active engine oil leaks.
  • 14% recorded battery health below 30%, increasing the likelihood of battery failure during summer.

Less Common but More Serious Faults

The inspection programme also identified several issues that, while less frequent, could lead to significant mechanical problems if left unattended:

  • 16% of inspected vehicles showed minor or major transmission oil leaks.
  • 7% experienced engine misfires, which can reduce performance, increase fuel consumption, and result in expensive repairs.

Six Essential Vehicle Checks Before Summer

Based on its inspection findings, dubizzle recommends motorists carry out the following maintenance checks before temperatures peak:

  1. Check battery health and replace ageing batteries if necessary.
  2. Inspect tyre pressure, tread depth, and overall tyre condition.
  3. Ensure coolant levels and the vehicle's cooling system are functioning properly.
  4. Service the air-conditioning system to maintain effective cooling.
  5. Regularly check engine oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid levels.
  6. Never ignore dashboard warning lights, unusual noises, or changes in vehicle performance.

The company said regular inspections and timely maintenance can help improve vehicle reliability, reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns, and ensure safer driving during the UAE's summer season.
