OMRAN Group Achieves Sustainability Milestone with WTTC Verification for 16 Hotels in Oman
Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) has marked a significant achievement in sustainable tourism by attaining the WTTC Hotel Sustainability Basics verification for 16 of its hotels and resorts — making them the first properties in Oman to be globally recognized under this esteemed international standard.
Announced during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 in Dubai, this milestone reflects OMRAN Group’s commitment to advancing sustainability in Oman’s hospitality sector. The internationally accredited verification from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) highlights the Group’s implementation of robust environmental and social practices across its hotel portfolio.
OMRAN’s verified properties have adopted comprehensive measures to reduce carbon emissions, optimize water and energy consumption, and minimize plastic usage. Socially, the hotels actively support local economies by engaging SMEs and integrating Omani entrepreneurs into their business ecosystems — fostering inclusive and sustainable growth.
