Leading Operations Across Six Gulf Markets
In his new role, Kalyan will oversee Novo Nordisk's operations across the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen.
He will be responsible for strengthening partnerships with healthcare stakeholders, driving innovation, and improving patient outcomes for people living with chronic diseases throughout the region.
Focus on Healthcare Transformation
Commenting on his appointment, Venkat Kalyan said the Gulf region is well positioned to lead the next phase of healthcare transformation.
He said he looks forward to building on Novo Nordisk's established regional presence while working closely with healthcare partners to improve patient outcomes and expand access to quality care.
Nearly Three Decades of Industry Experience
Kalyan brings almost 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, including 18 years with Novo Nordisk.
Before assuming his new position, he served as General Manager of the Gulf Emerging Markets Cluster, leading business growth and regional operations.
His leadership experience also spans several international markets, including India, Switzerland, Denmark, Middle Africa, South Africa, and the Gulf region.

Novo Nordisk said the Gulf continues to play an increasingly important role in its global growth strategy, driven by the region's rapidly advancing healthcare infrastructure and growing emphasis on innovation.
