Newborn Town Establishes Regional Headquarters in Saudi Arabia
In a significant milestone, Hong Kong-listed tech company Newborn Town has officially joined Saudi Arabia's Regional Headquarters Program (RHQ Program). Partnering with the Saudi Ministry of Investment (MISA), the company held an inauguration event in Riyadh under the theme "To Connect, Explore, and Thrive Together".
The event, held at Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC Hotel, marked the granting of a Regional Headquarters license to Newborn Town by MISA. This makes Newborn Town the first social entertainment company to establish its MENA headquarters in Saudi Arabia.
Distinguished attendees included Mohammed Alshabanah, General Manager of the ICT Sector at the Ministry of Investment; Alhassan Hamidaldin, General Supervisor of the RHQ Program; Huang Nailiang, Head of the MENA Market at Newborn Town; Song Pengliang, Senior Vice President of Newborn Town; and Lena Chen, Director of Corporate Strategy responsible for the RHQ in the MENA region.
Huang Nailiang expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, "We are honored to receive the permit to establish our regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia, one of our most important markets. This initiative will not only help us attract top talents but also pave the way for significant successes in the MENA region."
Economic Transformation and Vision 2030
During the event, Mohammed Alshabanah highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strides in fostering a robust business environment through advancements in information technology, the digital economy, and online social entertainment. He noted that such efforts align with the goals of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s roadmap for economic diversification.
Alhassan Hamidaldin emphasized that Newborn Town’s involvement in the RHQ Program reflects the Kingdom's strong economic landscape. He stated, "Establishing Newborn Town’s Regional Headquarters adds to the sectoral diversity of licensed RHQs, showcasing Saudi Arabia's dynamic economy."
Since the launch of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s non-oil revenues have grown to account for 70% of the national income. Foreign direct investment (FDI) has also quadrupled, making Saudi Arabia a leading G20 nation in digital competitiveness. The Kingdom aims to invest over $60 billion in its entertainment and amusement sectors in the coming years.
Commitment to the Region
Since 2017, Newborn Town has focused on the MENA market, addressing local users' social and entertainment needs. Looking forward, Huang reiterated the company’s commitment: "We will continue to delve into the social entertainment market within Saudi Arabia and across the MENA region. We are excited to grow alongside Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA community, exploring new business opportunities and working toward a brighter future."
