Nakheel awards contracts for the commencement of infrastructure works on Palm Jebel Ali
Nakheel, the world-leading master developer and member of Dubai Holding, has announced the awarding of contracts for crucial infrastructure construction at Palm Jebel Ali.
DBB Contracting LLC, a subsidiary of the Dutco Group, has been awarded the contract to construct a public access road from Sheikh Zayed Road to Palm Jebel Ali, as well as a construction road serving the central portion of the Palm. This new public access road, when completed, will span nearly 6 kilometers, providing a beautifully landscaped and convenient route to Palm Jebel Ali.
Khansaheb Civil Engineering LLC, part of the Khansaheb Group, has been awarded the contract for roadway and lighting enhancements to Al Hesah Street (formerly the old Abu Dhabi Road) at Dubai Waterfront, which connects to Palm Jebel Ali. The Khansaheb Group has a distinguished track record of delivering several of Dubai’s most critical projects, reinforcing its status as a leading construction and facilities management company.
Palm Jebel Ali, one of Nakheel’s visionary projects revealed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, will offer a wide range of luxury lifestyle amenities for residents, families, and visitors. Supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, this project signifies the emergence of a new growth corridor in the Jebel Ali area and underlines the emirate’s expansion.
Khalid Al Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding Real Estate, stated, “Today, we proudly announce the appointment of DBB Contracting and Khansaheb Civil Engineering as our partners for the next phase of development at Palm Jebel Ali. Alongside these best-in-class partners, we are not only ensuring the highest standards of urban infrastructure for our customers, but also contributing to the realization of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. This partnership reaffirms our commitment to raising the global benchmark in waterfront living, making Palm Jebel Ali a coveted address for approximately 35,000 families in the future.”
Palm Jebel Ali will provide a new urban center in Dubai, forming a major residential and leisure hub for the new Expo 2020 urban area. Spanning 13.4 kilometers of land and 10.5 million square meters of development, it features 16 fronds, totaling 110 kilometers of coastline and 91 kilometers of beachfront. This contributes to the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan’s goal of increasing public beach lengths by 400%. The island will accommodate approximately 35,000 families, aligning with the projected population increase to 5.8 million residents by 2040.
