Myplant & Garden Middle East Debuts in Dubai Under Patronage of Ministry of Climate Change and Environment
The inaugural edition of Myplant & Garden Middle East 2025 opened today at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai, marking the region’s first dedicated exhibition for horticulture, landscaping, and sustainable green urban development. The event is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) and was inaugurated by HE Dr. Mohammed Salman Alhammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Food Diversity Sector at MOCCAE, and HE Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
The launch signals a pivotal moment for the UAE and the wider region as countries intensify efforts to build climate-resilient and nature-positive cities aligned with We the UAE Vision 2031 and broader sustainability commitments. It also highlights the GCC’s increasing focus on green economy growth, innovative landscaping solutions, and environmental resilience.
International delegates and key industry leaders participated in the opening tour, including HE Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE; Andreas Kipar, member of the World Economic Forum Nature-Positive Cities Task Force; Francesco Santa, CEO of IEG Middle East; and Mirco Carloni, President of the XIII Commission (Agriculture) of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. Their attendance reflected the importance of global cooperation in advancing sustainable urban transformation.
HE Dr. Alhammadi emphasized that the exhibition aligns closely with the UAE’s strategic vision, noting: “Horticulture and the green sector play a major role in shaping our sustainable cities. Building smart, liveable, and climate-adaptive communities requires adopting innovative nature-based solutions.”
He added that green cities are directly connected to food security goals, highlighting the role of agricultural technology and urban farming in creating productive, sustainable ecosystems. He underscored that international collaboration is essential to advancing these ambitions, describing Myplant & Garden Middle East as a vital platform for partnership and innovation.
The exhibition features more than 100 global exhibitors, showcasing advanced solutions for arid-climate horticulture, water-efficient irrigation technologies, climate-adaptive plant production, outdoor landscape design, and next-generation greenhouse systems. These innovations are designed to address regional challenges such as water scarcity, extreme heat, and desertification.
Over the three-day event, attendees will take part in conferences, expert sessions, and technical workshops covering key environmental topics, including resilient plant production, biodiversity restoration, nature-positive city planning, climate-adaptive landscaping, and the integration of biophilic and circular design principles. Specialists will also explore how smart irrigation, native plant cultivation, and interconnected green corridors can create cooler, healthier, and more liveable urban spaces.
Widespread participation from government agencies, research organizations, and international industry partners underscores the exhibition’s role in shaping future policy, encouraging investment, and supporting long-term green infrastructure development across the region. Discussions on opening day highlighted the growing awareness of how green urban environments improve real-estate value, strengthen community wellbeing, and enhance sustainability outcomes.
Valeria Randazzo, Exhibition Director of Myplant & Garden Middle East, noted that the event will help define the evolution of cities in the region. “Green spaces are essential for future-ready cities. By bringing together global expertise and regional ambition, this exhibition accelerates progress toward resilient landscaping, advanced horticulture, and sustainable urban design.”
Day One concluded with a unified call to reimagine Middle Eastern cities as nature-positive, climate-resilient ecosystems that support environmental health, human wellbeing, and long-term economic value. With strong government endorsement, international collaboration, and a comprehensive technical agenda, Myplant & Garden Middle East 2025 establishes itself as a landmark event for the regional horticulture and landscaping sector.
